1. What the service is

XY:Ref reads publicly available NSW government registers and presents the result with the source, query, retrieval time, licence and clause behind each value. It is a research and due-diligence aid. It is not a s10.7 planning certificate, not legal advice, not a survey, and not a substitute for the statutory instruments it cites.

2. Accuracy and reliance

Values are read from third-party government services at the moment you ask. We do not warrant that those services are accurate, complete or available, and some upstream layers are years out of date at source — where we know this, the report says so. Every value carries a replayable query so you can verify it yourself, and you are responsible for doing so before relying on it for a decision. Values labelled assumed were not read from any register.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for the security of your credentials and your API key. Keys can be rotated or revoked from your dashboard at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the upstream government services this product depends on — that is a shared resource, and abusing it takes it away from everyone.

4. Plans, billing and caps

Prices are in AUD and include GST. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and charged immediately on subscribing. Pay-as-you-go credit is charged per address resolved and read, at the rate shown on your billing page. One address counts once per billing month however many times you open it; an address that fails to resolve is never charged. Addresses past a plan cap draw from credit rather than failing, and stop when credit runs out — nothing auto-charges past your credit balance.

What a plan includes can change. Some inclusions are fed by data we licence from commercial providers, and if a licence changes or ends we may withdraw or substitute what it feeds. We will not change the price of a period you have already paid for: price changes take effect at your next renewal and are notified by email before that renewal. If we remove an inclusion you are currently paying for, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of that period.

Cancel any time from Billing. You keep access to the end of the period already paid for. Credit is non-refundable but does not expire.

5. Your files and your data

Templates you fill are processed entirely in your browser — they are never uploaded to us, so we neither store nor log their contents. Saved addresses are stored against your account so they can be shown on your map, and are deleted when you delete them or close your account.

6. Third-party data licences

Data is sourced from NSW Government services and Geoscape Australia under their own open licences, which the report names per value. Your use of that data is subject to those licences, and the attribution requirement travels with the data — including into any template we help you fill.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, XY:Ref is provided as-is and our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
